Beta Thalassemia Testing Market Size & Growth Outlook 2024-2031
Beta thalassemia is a blood disorder. It affects the production of a protein in the red blood cells (RBCs) and the protein, called hemoglobin that allows RBCs to carry oxygen to all parts of the body. Hemoglobin is made up of smaller parts, including alpha globin and beta globin. Beta thalassemia is the condition when problems with beta globin led to less hemoglobin in the blood and can cause anemia. Beta thalassemia is categorized into two types depending on the severity of symptoms: thalassemia major, which is also known as Cooley's anemia, and thalassemia intermedia.
